On Monday, 9 September, the first ever editathon with librarians of the Municipal Library in Prague will take place. There have been many Wikipedia-related events at the City Library and its branches, but we have never had our own librarian editathon. The event is based on a long-term cooperation between Wikimedia ČR and the Municipal Library in Prague and its main goal is to expand and improve the quality of Wikipedia information related to the Municipal Library.
What is this editaton? An editathon is an event where new entries are created on Wikipedia or existing articles are expanded and corrected – in one time, in one place. And why does this make sense? Because each corrected error or added reference increases the quality and relevance of the Czech Wikipedia for all those who visit it daily.
