At the end of March, the final round of the DemocraTICon competition (formerly the Media Olympiad) will take place, testing the media literacy of high school students from all over the Czech Republic. This is the third year we have participated in the competition, and the main lecturer Pavel Bednařík has been a member of the jury since 2023. In the final round, which will take place on 26-27 March 2025 at the Technical University in Ostrava, we will also have a competition discipline for the first time. Correcting Wikipedia – this is the name of the discipline in which students will be tasked with correcting an inappropriate Wikipedia entry and supplementing it with appropriate sources and other details. For the third year, Wikimedia CR is also a partner, donating prizes for the winners.
