What is Evening WikiSchool for seniors?
It is a series of regular, specialised workshops aimed mainly at seniors, especially graduates of the beginner (and advanced) Seniors Writing Wikipedia (SePW) courses.
What does Evening WikiSchool offer?
It offers the opportunity to focus on developing the specific skills that a good Wikipedian needs to do their job. We will focus on techniques and tweaks that can be used in editing practice that are not covered in detail in the Seniors Write Wikipedia courses.
In October, we’ll return to an important topic that gives many Wikipedians frowns: references, links, citations, in short, sources (as well as literature). Wikipedia’s principles are based on sourcing, i.e. references and citations. How to cite them correctly? How is a reference different from an external reference? How do you properly cite a print publication, a newspaper, an online resource, or even a documentary film? We will cover all these topics.
The online workshop – Evening Wikischool for Seniors: references, literature, links – will take place on Tuesday, 10 October 2023 from 17:00 to 18:30. You can register here, and find all the rest of the information and details here.
Do not hesitate with your application, the workshop has a limited capacity.
