At the beginning of February, on Saturday 3 February 2024 to be precise, the Czech Film Critics Awards for 2023 were traditionally held. The prestigious award, which together with the Czech Lions evaluates the past season, was awarded in 10 categories. Wikimedia’s chief lecturer and film consultant Pavel Bednařík and Wikipedian and student Thea Pfeffermanová attended the awards for the second time and once again took a collection of photographs of Czech filmmakers who do not have a free image on Wikipedia. Now you can find on Wikipedia and Commons photos of the winning filmmakers (2022 and 2023), such as directors Tomáš Pavlíček and Filip Pošivač, or actress Simona Peková and animator Daria Kaschcheeva. Anyone interested in adding photos to Czech films or filmmakers can join the WikiProject Films.
