Workshop Media Education and Human Rights on Wikipedia for Londýnská Primary School

Wikipedia is the world’s most visited non-commercial website on the Internet. Who creates its content? Who controls it? Is it a relevant source of information? Can Wikipedia be used for meaningful study? How can Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects contribute to media literacy? As part of the Human Rights on Wikipedia challenge, over 50 second graders from London Primary School found out the answers to these questions and more about how Wikipedia works.

The second part focused on trying out Wikipedia from the perspective of a user and a contributor. Using a selection of human rights articles, participants looked at what and how we can change on Wikipedia and under what rules, and gave it a practical try.
